Van Der Windt UK and Guy & Co have made an exciting addition to their extensive range of biodegradable products by securing an agreement to distribute a range of eco-friendly food containers and packaging in the UK and Ireland, Benelux and Denmark.
Trays, bowls, plates and food containers are made from natural fibre and are created in a six-stage forming and sterilizing process, making them capable of withstanding temperatures from 200°C to -25°C. The products are certified as biodegradable and compostable to European Union and United States standards, making them ideal for a range of food applications.
The new range is expected to be particularly successful in the catering and agricultural sectors as they can be used for example for food on the go, outside catering, convenience food packaging and as containers for fruit and vegetables. The product range also works well with biodegradable and compostable films supplied by Van Der Windt UK and Guy & Co.
This is the latest addition to the already extensive selection of products supplied by the two companies, all chosen to reflect the companies’ customer-focused approach dedicated to high quality service delivered efficiently and at market-leading value. Van Der Windt UK and Guy & Co enjoy close links with sister Clondalkin Group companies Wentus and LPF Flexibles, giving them access to an extensive range of flexible packaging solutions.
Guy & Co general manager Pat Whelan said: “We’re very excited to have exclusively added these biodegradable food containers and packaging to the large and varied range of products we provide our customers.
Van Der Windt UK general manager Richard Selby said: “The manufacturers’ commitment to using sustainable materials and the products’ compostable and biodegradable nature will make this a very popular range for customers requiring a disposable food tray product that is ‘green’ as well as durable and robust.
“All of the products within the range are heat, water and oil resistant and can be formed in a variety of shapes and sizes, offering a highly attractive set of attributes for customers in the UK, Denmark and Benelux regions.”
